Jeanette Tatton

Founder and Owner

I’m one of those people who genuinely loves the work I do — helping others move with ease and find true posture. I strongly believe that mobility can, and should, be pain-free. That belief is what drives me.

I was introduced to Pilates during my time as a classical ballet dancer. What began as a way to support my own strength and conditioning quickly evolved into teaching. I was amazed at how my body responded, and I was immediately drawn to this method of focused, intentional movement.

Wanting to share the benefits I experienced, I completed a Diploma in studio and mat-work Pilates through the National Pilates Training Program. Now, 13 years on, my experience spans working with AFL teams, personal trainers, and clients in rehabilitation (including pre- and post-surgery), as well as supporting diastasis (abdominal separation), pre- and post-pregnancy, and educating younger populations in schools.

I began teaching Pilates in 2002, after a 10-year professional career with The Australian Ballet Company. I’d been using Pilates since age 15 to support my training — building strength, recovering from injuries, correcting imbalances, and releasing tension in overworked muscles.

Pilates provides a strong foundation for everyone, focusing on deep core activation to support the spine and pelvis, while also building a powerful mind–body connection that enhances alignment and movement — especially important in injury recovery.

Alongside my ballet school in Armidale, NSW, I ran a mat studio, Vintage Pilates, offering strength and conditioning for dancers and the wider community.

After closing The New England Ballet School in 2006, I completed formal training with Studio Pilates, gaining certifications in Advanced Mat, Advanced Reformer, and Band, Ball & Circle.

I’ve since worked across Victoria, teaching a wide range of styles, including clinical Pilates.

Hi, I’m Jo — mum of two beautiful girls, living in the Dandenong Ranges. We left Australia in 2006 and returned in 2024 after many adventures.

I’ve always been drawn to deeper connection — exploring purpose, spirituality, and the meaning behind how we live and feel. After realising the corporate world wasn’t for me, I travelled to practise meditation and spiritual arts, eventually studying yoga in India in 2008.

From there, I moved to the Swiss Alps, where I ran a holistic health and wellbeing studio for over 12 years — teaching yoga, and offering massage and reiki.

My yoga practice has evolved with each stage of life. I began with Ashtanga and Power Yoga, moved into restorative and pregnancy yoga during motherhood, and now find a grounding Hatha practice helps balance the busyness of everyday life.

In my classes, I draw on a range of styles, adapting to the energy in the room. My intention is to quiet the mind through a deep connection to breath and body, and to support people in continuing that journey beyond the mat.

My Pilates journey began in 2016 after ongoing back and hip issues. With consistent, guided practice, my body improved quickly — I built strength, reduced pain, and felt more agile and confident in everyday life with my two kids and husband.

As my love for Pilates grew, so did my desire to share it with others. I’m passionate about helping people experience their own transformation and feel stronger in their bodies.

I’m currently studying a Diploma of Contemporary Pilates & Teaching Methodology with Tensegrity Training, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing.

Pilates has truly changed my life, and I deeply believe in its power — for me, and for you — that movement is medicine.
